In the fall of 2023, the MTA made a significant change to the layover location for bus drivers, moving it from 59th St and 1st Ave between 1st Ave and Sutton Place to 55th St between Sutton Place and 1st Ave, continuing onto 1st Ave between 54th and 56th St. Unfortunately, this change has resulted in a major “Quality of Life” issue for residents of Plaza 400 and surrounding buildings in the Sutton Area Community. Buses now line up, one after the other, for layover breaks throughout the day at this new location.

We are actively addressing this issue by working with Community Board 6, Councilman Keith Powers’ office, and the MTA to find a resolution. Stay tuned for updates as we continue our efforts to mitigate the impact of this change on the quality of life for residents in our community.
